Important COVID-19 Update for McGriff Clients and Partners

Message from the President and CEO: Coronavirus preparedness update

April 9, 2020

By Rick Ulmer

As we continue to adjust to our new normal created by the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to assure you that we are committed to providing the highest level of personalized service that you have come to expect from McGriff. With our Business Continuity Plan fully functional, I’m pleased to report that more than 90% of our staff is now working remotely—equipped with the resources and support our teammates need to manage our business and take care of our customers.

For our teammates who are still required to work in the office, we continue to make every effort to limit exposure by implementing social distancing, office/work station relocations, and enhanced cleaning, especially on high-touch surfaces.

To support our clients and partners with claims and claims-related questions specific to COVID-19, we created a Coronavirus Claims Response Team that will communicate the changing claims landscape, answer questions, and establish protocols and best practices for managing complex claims. To learn more about the Claims Response Team, please contact Shane Sumrall, McGriff Senior Vice President, at

The McGriff leadership team continues to meet on a regular basis to assess and respond to any potential business impacts with one objective in mind—a seamless insurance, risk management and employee benefits experience for our clients and partners.

And lastly, we’re committed to keeping you informed through this rapidly changing situation. Make sure you bookmark the Coronavirus Advisory page on our website and check it regularly for the latest information from our subject matter experts. We continue to add resources and updates on a regular basis.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. And please let us know if we can help with any of your insurance, risk and employee benefits needs.
